The Kyte Group, Talisman Global Asset Management and Dr Rami Habib have launched a new fund management business, KTH Fund Management LLP.

KTH has a mandate to identify traders and trading strategies with the potential to outperform industry benchmarks, and provide the investment capital to allow these traders to develop marketable hedge fund businesses.

“There are many fund managers in the market with great potential; our job is to find the most skilled and to help them develop their own businesses,” said Dr Habib, managing partner of KTH. “With the combination of Kyte Group’s trading experience and supporting infrastructure, the funding from Talisman Global Asset Management and my experience as a quantitative analyst in the area of alternative investments, we believe we have a great opportunity to build a first-class fund management business.”

David Kyte, director of Kyte Group added: “Many of the top performing hedge funds now have limited additional capacity and are closed to new investors. KTH has been established to develop the next generation of star performers.”

Kyte Group was established by David Kyte in 1985 and is a leading independent clearer, broker and trader of derivatives.

Talisman Global Asset Management was established in 1990 to invest internationally in equity and venture capital markets and has performed strongly from the outset. The dedicated in-house team constantly analyses and manages over GBP 400 million in investor funds. The investments are currently spread across a range of high performing hedge fund managers, private equity fund managers and venture capital companies.  The overall strategy at Talisman is to target better-than-average performance while minimizing risk.

Rami Habib set-up and managed the quantitative research at FIMAT International Banque SA (UK Branch) where his main focus was in the area of alternative investments, producing monthly quantitative research on single strategy hedge funds as well as portfolio construction, peer group analysis, and risk analysis. He developed and maintained the “FIMAT Volatility Arbitrage Median” FVAM, which is a benchmark portfolio of Volatility Arbitrage Funds. Dr Habib has a PhD in Applied Mathematics (Computational Fluid Dynamics).
