Yorkville Advisors, a provider of financing solutions to growing companies in the global small-cap sector, has hired Eric Hansen as Senior Legal Counsel.
 

Hansen, 43, a former SEC branch chief, reports to Mark Angelo, Managing Partner at the firm and joins former another former SEC attorney David Fine in the firm’s legal department.

"Fund pricing and valuation is one of the most critical challenges facing the industry and having Eric’s insight on this complex issue is invaluable." 
 
Hansen brings nearly 20 years of legal experience to Yorkville Advisors and Cornell Capital, during his time with the SEC, he held the title of Senior Counsel and Branch Chief in the Division of Enforcement and was involved in many high profile cases including Lipper Convertibles, LP, one of the largest cases that focused on fraudulent performance representation and asset valuation of bond hedge funds.

Other prominent cases that Hansen worked on at the SEC included investigating complex accounting issues at Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) and Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp (Freddie Mac). Prior to the SEC, he was an associate for Eckert, Seamans, Cherin & Mellott, LLP, where he worked on a wide range of corporate matters. Hansen received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University.  
 
Background notes: Founded in 2001, Yorkville Advisors LLC is a private investment firm that specializes in structured finance and, according to Knobias Pipe Trac, was one of the most active investors in the US in terms of the number of structured equity financings in 2005. Knobias also reported that Yorkville has structured over USD 1 billion in committed equity capital in over 100 transactions within the last 12 months. Headquartered in Jersey City, NJ, Yorkville has offices in London, San Diego, Jupiter and Aventura, Florida.
