Daniel J Vene, Jeffrey J Eaton and Thomas L Knechtel have joined independent global placement agent CP Eaton Partners at its headquarters in Connecticut to help the firm expand its alternative investment placement business.

Vene brings 10 years’ experience in investment management and financial operations to CP Eaton’s real estate group. He was previously a principal at real estate private equity firm Allegiance Capital Partners, and earlier a senior vice-president in the capital markets group at Thomson Financial. Vene began his career as a high-yield bond trader at ING.
Eaton joins the firm’s private equity group with seven years of experience in the financial services industry. He was most recently a director in the natural gas structuring and trading division at Constellation Energy Commodities Group, after having worked for Shanghai-based import and distribution company Montrose International.
Knechtel joins CP Eaton’s hedge fund group with five years of hedge fund marketing experience. He was a previously a vice-president at Channel Capital Group, where he focused on raising institutional capital for the firm’s third-party hedge fund mandates, and earlier he was a member of Deutsche Banks’ equity prime services division.
