UK leading fund management group, Jupiter Asset Management, has this week announced the addition of two UCITS sub-funds to its Lux-domiciled Jupiter Global Fund SICAV. The Jupiter Strategic Total Return fund and Jupiter Global Convertibles fund will be launched on October 1st with Miles Geldard (pictured) and Lee Manzi as respective managers having both recently joined from RWC Partners. The pair has worked together over the last 12 years, bringing 40 years’ collective experience to Jupiter. Details of the funds’ size are not yet known. Both, however, will play to the strengths of Geldard and Manzi, combining top-down fundamental stock analysis with quantitative and qualitative research. The STR fund will aim to deliver long-term returns using a multi-asset strategy whilst the Global Convertibles fund will develop a portfolio of global convertible bonds. Commenting on the fund’s investment opportunities, Geldard was quoted in the press as saying: “The investment world is split between inflationists and deflationists, and the uncertainty about the outcome among the investment community will continue to generate significant volatility in financial assets. Investors may consider convertibles an appropriate asset class to hold in such an environment.”
