Matrix expands fund of hedge funds sales team

UK asset manager Matrix has reorganised and expanded its fund of hedge funds sales team, with Alan Sinstead relocating to Asia to promote Matrix Group products to independent financial advisers and private banks in the region, while Luke Reeves has been promoted to sales director of the Matrix institutional and retail funds team.

Richard Jones and Glenn Hamilton have been promoted to become business development directors in the UK, while Sid Mansukhani has joined as a sales manager and Rachel Partridge has joined as a sales support executive.

‘We now have a range of eight funds of hedge funds and more than 200 IFAs, wealth managers and private banks who deal into the funds,’ says Bridget Guerin, managing director of Matrix Money Management.

‘We have expanded our sales team to increase the number of firms that invest in Matrix funds of hedge funds and to provide an enhanced level of service to the firms that support us. We have plans to make further appointments to the sales team over the next few months.’

Founded in 1987, Matrix is active in investment business areas including commercial property, private equity, hedge funds, funds of hedge funds and structured products. It is also involved in corporate finance, institutional and corporate broking and research, as well as investment services such as private equity fund placement, project finance and alternative energies.

To date, Matrix has raised in excess of GBP5bn for its investment products, which are promoted through institutions, financial advisers, wealth managers, accountants and other intermediaries, and currently has more than GBP2bn in funds under management.

The firm, which has a staff of more than 130 based in London’s West End, has a range of five funds of hedge funds with a minimum investment of GBP10,000 that are eligible in the UK for self-invested personal pensions, small self-administered schemes and offshore bonds. It has recently launched a new range of closed-ended products carrying a minimum investment of GBP50,000.
