Advisors Asset Management, am investment solutions partner for financial professionals, has signed a strategic agreement with BNP Paribas to become the sole distributor of structured products linked to the BNP Paribas Spectrum Long/Short Index.

The Spectrum Long/Short Index is a proprietary index published by Standard & Poor’s that employs a market-neutral strategy designed to diversify investor portfolios and deliver superior returns.

Inspired by the observation that investment trends in the market persist, the index provides the opportunity to capitalise on both positive and negative trending indices. By incorporating short investing in the index, the Spectrum Long/Short Index seeks to generate absolute returns from the appreciation of the strategy.

‘We are excited about combining the expertise of product innovation that BNP Paribas provides with the successful structured product distribution strategy that we use,’ says Randy Pegg, executive vice-president of Advisors Asset Management.

‘It is our goal to bring timely and innovative financial solutions to the market place for advisers and broker dealers. The ability to offer access to the Spectrum Long/Short Index using a structured product vehicle can provide investors with the best of both worlds.’

Advisors Asset Management is a division of Fixed Income Securities, a broker/dealer and investment advisor that offers financial professionals portfolio support services and efficient access to the fixed income and equity markets.

The company specialises in investment solutions including unit investment trusts and structured products as well as separately managed account services. Established in 1979, it has nine major offices across the US and partners with more than 75 broker/dealers, 2,500 independent advisers and 175 street accounts.
