GLG Partners has appointed Daniel Geber, an investment specialist in international small and mid caps, as a portfolio manager in its New York office.

GLG Partners has appointed Daniel Geber, an investment specialist in international small and mid caps, as a portfolio manager in its New York office. He joins GLG from Epoch Investment Partners, where he managed the international small cap funds and Asian portfolios.

Geber was previously a partner and head of equities at Trident Investment Management, an equity analyst at Omega Advisors, an executive director at Goldman Sachs, where he structured and executed advisory and principal investment transactions in Asia, Europe and the US, and a consultant with McKinsey.

GLG founder and senior investment manager Pierre Lagrange says: ‘We are delighted to welcome Daniel to GLG. His extensive knowledge and investment track record are first-class, and we look forward to the valuable contribution he will make to the firm.’

GLG, which was founded in 2005 and had more than USD24bn in net assets under management at the end of last year, focuses on preserving clients’ capital and achieving consistent absolute returns with low volatility and low correlation to the equity and fixed-income markets.
