Asia Alternative Asset Partners (Caymans), which specialises in the seeding and distribution of Asian and emerging markets alternative funds, has appointed Joanne Murphy as marketing director for the Asia Pacific region.

Murphy, who has previously worked in sales and marketing for HSBC, Deutsche and Fortis, will report to Roger Pyrke, deputy chief executive and head of sales for Asia-Pacific for Triple A Partners, as the firm calls itself.

‘We are absolutely delighted that Joanne has decided to join Triple A Partners,’ Pyrke says. ‘She has more than 10 years experience in the alternative funds business in Asia and will greatly help us in increasing our sales and marketing efforts in the region.

‘She is well known in the hedge fund community in Asia and we believe her appointment signifies our commitment to help the managers we seed in building their funds under management.’

Triple A Partners, which has offices in Hong Kong, Los Angeles and London, is run by a management team consisting of Hans Tiedemann, Paul Smith and Pyrke. Its shareholders London-based private investment firm Iveagh, a multi-family office set up by the Guinness brewing family, and CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets Group, an institutional research and brokerage house owned by France’s Crédit Agricole.
