Chicago-based 2100 Xenon Group has announced the appointment of Michelle Sweda as Director of Client Services, responsible for client service, business development and marketing and reporting to chief executive Jay Feuerstein.

Sweda was previously a director in capital introductions at UBS Securities, where she provided consulting services to hedge funds and made introductions to funds of funds, family offices, pension schemes, endowments and consultants. Earlier, she was a research analyst for Mesirow Advanced Strategies, a fund of hedge funds manager, and a consultant for Peterson Consulting.

‘Michelle has extensive experience working with a wide range of institutional investors, and has a strong background in the hedge fund world,’ Feuerstein says. ‘She is well prepared to help institutional investors understand how our managed futures strategies can enhance their total portfolio.’

A commodity trading adviser that provides diversified alternative investment strategies to the institutional and retail marketplace, 2100 Xenon manages a range of managed futures products in across global equity, fixed income, currency, metals, energy and commodity markets.

The firm is an affiliated asset manager within Old Mutual (US) Holdings, the US asset management business of London-based insurer Old Mutual. Old Mutual Asset Management comprises 19 distinct boutique firms, including asset managers that specialise in active investment strategies for institutional and individual investors, and the Old Mutual Asset Management Trust Company.
