This practical 2 day course covers the key elements of modelling in an LBO analysis using absolute and relative valuation techniques. Participants will learn how to assess debt capacity and determine the optimal capital structure as well as incorporate more complex LBO instruments such as warrants and PIKs. The delegates will also learn how to calculate the exit and value created as well as analyse a recovery for failed LBO transactions.

Run by the former Head of European Equity Team in one of the main City organisations this course uses a variety of case studies and exercises based on publicly quoted and generic companies.

By the end of this course you will:
• Be able to value the target using absolute and relative valuation techniques
• Build LBO model and develop LBO analysis
• Assess the debt capacity of a company to determine the optimal capital structure
• Incorporate warrants and PIKs in an LBO model
• Calculate returns to equity and debt providers
• Model a more complex capital structures
• Calculate IRR and exit values generated by investors
• Apply the optimal financing structure taking into account constrains of various types of investors
• Calculate adjusted present value (APV) to determine the value created
• Undertake recovery analysis for failed LBO transaction

To attend this course delegates should:
• Have intermediate knowledge of accounting
• Have intermediate modelling skills using Excel
• Have an understanding of financial forecasting and the basics of corporate finance
• Previous LBO knowledge is not required as the course will be explaining basics before moving on to more advanced concepts
