Enso Financial Analytics (ENSO), a provider of data-driven investment and operational insights for hedge funds, has hired Julian Pittam as Head of EMEA and Stephen Caplen as Global COO.

Both Pittam and Caplen will operate out of ENSO's London office and join the company's global executive management team.

Pittam joins ENSO from Data Explorers, a financial data and software company that was sold to Markit in 2012. Caplen comes from ICAP, which recently announced a second round of funding in ENSO. ICAP is a leading markets operator and provider of post trade risk mitigation and information services.

ENSO has grown from three employees in 2011 to more than 70 employees across the globe today as the company continues to expand. The majority of these employees are based in ENSO's New York office at 450 Park Avenue South.

"Adding Julian and Stephen to the team is a huge step forward for ENSO," says Bernard. "Julian's name is synonymous with exciting, new breakthroughs in financial data analytics. Stephen's deep industry knowledge and operational expertise in the realm of trading technologies is an equally valuable asset as we continue to stretch the boundaries of collaboration between hedge funds and dealers."

"Becoming Head of EMEA for ENSO is an opportunity I just couldn't resist," says Pittam. "Fast-growing companies with great products and excellent management teams are the most exciting and challenging places to work. I look forward to working with the existing team in Europe as we build our presence."

"Market participants are confronted with extraordinary changes in market conditions that call for exceptional solutions," says Caplen. "ENSO has successfully brought to market a solution that addresses unprecedented regulatory pressures and the ever-rising cost of capital on dealers' balance sheets. I look forward to working with ENSO as we bring this new model to international markets."

Pittam joined Data Explorers in 2005 as a Managing Director and Partner responsible for building out the product and client base. During his seven years there he established offices in the U.S. and Asia and in 2007 was named Head of Sales and Marketing. Previously, Pittam was the Head of Institutional Marketing for Equity and Prime Finance at Lehman Brothers International, Europe. Before that, he ran sales and marketing for Asia at Bankers Trust International. He has also spent time as an active start-up investor.

Caplen had recently served as ICAP's Deputy Group CFO and previously ran ICAP's Global IT Infrastructure and Global Business Services departments.  Caplen was Global CFO of EBS when it was acquired by ICAP in 2006 and prior to that spent seven years with the London Stock Exchange, where he latterly performed the role of Deputy Head of Finance.

ENSO's technology services both the hedge fund and primer broker communities. The company's recent product releases include ENSO Core, a platform that provides a mutually beneficial information bridge between asset managers and their prime brokers, and services that allow money managers to receive real-time pricing on securities and customised colour commentary for their trading positions.

ENSO is in the process of rolling out additional services aimed at creating a new ecosystem that enhances pre-trade intelligence while maximising dealer balance sheets. ENSO's clients include several of the world's largest asset managers and prime brokers.
