Global law firm Ropes & Gray has appointed Keren Rimon as counsel in the firm’s private investment funds practice in Boston.

Rimon joins Ropes & Gray from Harvard Management Company where she most recently held the position of Senior Vice President – Private Funds. In this capacity, Rimon provided comprehensive legal support to HMC’s hedge fund, absolute return and private equity portfolios. This included managing legal processes across a wide range of fund investment matters on behalf of the endowment. Rimon also advised HMC’s portfolio teams on complex investment structures tailored to the endowment, including separately managed accounts, single-member funds and GP interest arrangements. Additionally, Rimon participated in due diligence reviews of funds and advised on legal, regulatory and tax matters pertaining to existing fund portfolios.

“Keren’s significant experience at a distinguished endowment manager and investment company will be of great advantage to the practice, especially our investor clients,” says John Ayer, partner and co-head of the firm’s private investment funds group. “Keren is well known, and highly respected within the endowment community. The breadth of her experience and deep knowledge with respect to fund investments is complementary to the counsel Ropes & Gray delivers to our fund investor clients.”

“Having worked extensively with a number of Ropes & Gray’s private investment funds attorneys, I know first-hand of the practice’s superior legal advice provided to clients,” says Rimon. “I’m thrilled to become part of the team and look forward to working closely with my colleagues, and new clients.”

Prior to her tenure at HMC, Rimon was in private practice, serving in the corporate department of a leading Boston-based firm, as well as in the real estate department of a premier law firm in New York. Rimon received her LLB from Tel Aviv University School of Law and an LLM from University of Chicago Law School. She also holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.
