Quantitative asset management company WorldQuant, in partnership with global online learning company Udacity, has launched a new Artificial Intelligence for Trading Nanodegree program.

Students enrolled in the programme will analyse real data and build financial models by learning the basics of quantitative trading, as well as how to analyse alternative data and use machine learning to generate trading signals.

Udacity and WorldQuant have collaborated with top industry professionals with prior experience at leading financial institutions to ensure students are exposed to the latest AI applications in trading and quantitative finance. By learning from industry experts, students will advance their finance knowledge, build a strong portfolio of real-world projects and learn to generate trading signals using natural language processing, recurrent neural networks and random forests. Graduates will gain the quantitative skills currently in demand across multiple functions and roles at hedge funds, investment banks and fintech startups.

“WorldQuant is committed to bringing opportunity to talent globally. This Nanodegree programme is like a laser, it focuses exactly on what you need today to succeed,” says Igor Tulchinsky (pictured), Founder, Chairman and CEO of WorldQuant.

“Our research found that there is massive interest in learning how to build financial models for trading, particularly among data analysts, software engineers and programmers with Python skills,” says Roshni Jain, Director of Learning Products at Udacity. “This is why we’re so excited to announce our new Artificial Intelligence for Trading Nanodegree program. We’re especially pleased to have partnered with WorldQuant to build this program, as it brings together our groundbreaking learning platform with one of the true pioneers in the quantitative trading space.”

Throughout this program, students receive world-class support through mentor-led study groups and detailed feedback from project reviewers. Industry experts from top financial institutions provide actionable insights and guidance during office hours, reinforcing the supportive community of students.

The programme consists of two three-month terms. In the first term, students learn the basics of quantitative analysis, covering data processing, trading signal generation and portfolio management. The second term is focused on AI Algorithms for Trading, where students work with alternative data and use machine learning to generate trading signals and run backtests to evaluate signals. The classroom officially opens on 21 August 2018, and students are able to enroll now.
