PEGAS reports record-breaking month on TTF in November

PEGAS, the pan-European gas trading platform operated by Powernext, reported its best monthly volume in 2018 with 193.3 TWh traded in November. Once again, the spot segment posted a strong activity with 103.9 TWh, including the highest traded volume on PEGAS TTF Spot with 42.1 TWh (previous record: 41.3 TWh in March 2018).

Spot trading volumes in November reached 103.9 TWh , up 40 per cent over the previous year (74.3 TWh). With its new record (42.1 TWh), the Dutch TTF market saw an increase of over 90 per cent (November 2017: 22.1 TWh). The German delivery zones NCG and Gaspool registered a volume of 33.2 TWh which represented a growth of 32 per cent compared to the previous period (November 2017: 25.3 TWh). Trading of quality-specific contracts reached 8.8 TWh. Following the launch of a unique delivery zone in France, the PEG achieved 9.4 TWh (November 2017: 14.9 TWh). The Austrian CEGH VTP volume registered 7.2 TWh, up 26 per cent (November 2017: 5.7 TWh). The Belgian markets ZTP and ZEE volumes amounted to 7.3 TWh, which represented motre than a two-fold increase from last year (2.9 TWh). The Danish market ETF registered 2.7 TWh, which was a growth of 77 per cent (November 2017: 1.5 TWh). Finally, the Czech market area CZ VTP traded 442 GWh. 


Geographical spread transactions reached 5.9 TWh, while the German and French locational and hourly products totalled 1.5 TWh.


In November, derivatives trading reached 89.4 TWh (November 2017: 120.3 TWh). The TTF market registered a total volume of 74.2 TWh (November 2017: 101.3 TWh). The NCG and GASPOOL delivery areas traded 5.5 TWh (November 2017: 9.6 TWh). CEGH VTP more than doubled last year’s volume with 5.2 TWh (November 2017: 1.9 TWh). The PEG market area followed suit with 2.3 TWh (November 2017: 738 GWh). The Italian PSV hub registered 1.4 TWh (November 2017: 6.3 TWh). The ZTP and ZEE hubs totalled 265.6 GWh (November 2017: 379.8 GWh). Finally, the CZ VTP hub registered 549 GWh.


 
The volume of geographical spread transactions accounted for 4.5 TWh and time spread transactions amounted to 6.1 TWh. Finally, 7.1 TWh were traded on PEGAS’ OTC platforms.
