Europe ex-UK eVestment users have high interest in hedge funds and fixed-income

While most eVestment users’ top viewed products globally and regionally fell into the equity category in October, Europe ex-UK users pushed three fixed-income products and two hedge funds on to that region’s list of most-viewed products, according the November 2018 eVestment Advantage Viewership Report.

The Advantage investment viewership data is generated through the eVestment Advantage solution and based on tracking daily eVestment user reviews of investment universes and products on eVestment. The report looks at Global, United States, United Kingdom, Europe ex-U.K., Japan, Asia ex-Japan, Australia/New Zealand, Africa/Middle East and Canada profile viewership activity among the institutional investors and consultants who use eVestment. The report looks at the most viewed products and universes overall for the past month and the universes and products that saw the most month-over-month growth in views on the site.
 
Japan-based eVestment users propelled Asset Management One Co to the top of the most viewed firm list as measured by the proportional increase in views the firm captured in November versus the prior six months. Investors and consultants located in Japan were responsible for 98 per cent of the firm’s total views last month, a 3.4x increase from the total views they made in the prior six months combined. The firm’s most viewed product in November was Japan Equity Active Stock Pick, which is included in eVestment’s Japan All Cap Core Equity universe.
 
There were three new entrants are in the global top 20 most viewed firms list in November: FMR Corp., Fiera Capital Corporation, and Dodge & Cox. For FMR Corp, the Fidelity Low-Priced Stock Fund was its most viewed strategy (48 per cent of this strategy’s views came from US-based users and 45 per cent from Asia ex-Japan); for Fiera Capital Corporation it was its Fiera Capital Global Equity product (51 per cent of views from Canada-based users and 45 per cent from US); and for Dodge & Cox it was the Dodge & Cox International Equity strategy (nearly all views from US-based users).
 
Institutional investor and consultant clients located in the UK showed a rapid rise in interest in Chinese-focused strategies, specifically to products within eVestment’s Greater China Equity, Overseas China Equity and RQFII/QFII-China A-Shares Equity universes.
 
The top viewed product in November by Europe ex-UK, UK and US investors and consultants were equity products focused on emerging markets. For Europe ex-UK, the top viewed strategy was Genesis Asset Managers, LLP: Global Emerging Markets Equity; for UK it was North of South Capital: North of South Capital Long Only Emerging Markets Strategy; and for US it was GQG Partners LLC: GQG Emerging Markets Equity.
