The gross return of the SS&C GlobeOp Hedge Fund Performance Index for November 2018 measured -1.32 per cent.
Hedge fund flows as measured by the SS&C GlobeOp Capital Movement Index advanced 0.67 per cent in December.
“SS&C GlobeOp’s Capital Movement Index rose 0.67 per cent for December 2018, an improvement from the -0.13 per cent reported for the same period a year ago for December 2017,” says Bill Stone (pictured), Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, SS&C Technologies.
“It’s noteworthy that this is the second consecutive month of year-over-year improvement in net flows and comes against a backdrop of sharply increased volatility and losses for major market indices during that period. Further, the net gains for each of these months were comprised of higher inflows and lower outflows. “
“Though it’s too early to say whether this marks the beginning of a trend toward higher allocations to hedge funds, the data indicates the sector is holding up well in the current market conditions.”
