SS&C GlobeOp Hedge Fund Performance Index down 1.35 per cent in December
The gross return of the SS&C GlobeOp Hedge Fund Performance Index for December 2018 measured -1.35 per cent.
Hedge fund flows as measured by the SS&C GlobeOp Capital Movement Index declined 1.69 per cent in January.
“SS&C GlobeOp’s Capital Movement Index of -1.69 per cent for January 2019 reflects improved net flows compared to the -1.74 per cent reported for the same period a year ago for January 2018,” says Bill Stone (pictured), Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, SS&C Technologies. “January typically sees negative net flows due to the normal seasonality. What is noteworthy, though, is this marks the third consecutive month of year-over-year improvement in our Capital Movement Index. The year-over-year improvement corresponds almost exactly to the past three months of elevated market volatility. We believe investors continue to value hedge fund managers’ ability to provide attractive risk-adjusted returns, especially in volatile markets.”
