Latham & Watkins has appointed Ivana K Rouse as a partner in the Corporate Department and a member of the Investment Funds Practice in the firm’s Houston office.

Rouse’s practice covers a broad range of private funds, including private equity-style energy, credit and mid-market funds, cryptocurrency funds and hedge funds.

“We are excited to welcome Ivana to the Corporate Department and to the firm. She has an excellent track record in the investment funds space and will be be an incredible anchor for the group here in Houston. Her sophisticated experience and legal skills will help clients take advantage of the high-growth opportunities in the energy sector,” says Tim Fenn, Houston Office Managing Partner.

Rouse’s practice primarily focuses on advising fund sponsors on both their fundraising activities and internal operational matters. She has also worked on a number of special situations funds, open-ended funds, hybrid hedge/private equity funds, and has a particular niche with drug royalty funds.

Kathleen Walsh, Global Vice Chair of Latham’s Corporate Department, notes: “The number of Houston-based private equity funds has increased in the past few years. Ivana’s significant experience in the market will benefit this growing client base, while also further enhancing our national and international investment funds capabilities.”

“I look forward to leveraging Latham’s exceptional global platform to provide full-scope legal service to my clients, no matter where in the world they are doing business,” says Rouse. “Latham’s collaborative approach to client service will benefit my current clients and positions my practice for terrific growth, especially in the energy and mid-market private equity spaces.”

Rouse is the third partner to join Latham’s Houston office in 2019. The firm recently announced the additions of Trevor Wommack, an accomplished banking lawyer, and Jonathan Castelan, an experienced M&A practitioner.

Prior to joining Latham & Watkins, Rouse was a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in Houston. She received her BA and BBA degrees from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in 2003, and her JD degree from SMU in 2006.
