OKEx to support THETA mainnet upgrade

Related Topics

OKEx, a Malta-based digital asset exchange, is to support the Theta Network (THETA) mainnet upgrade, as well as the Theta Fuel (TFUEL) airdrop, which is expected to happen at the Ethereum block height 7,356,258 (approximately 20:00 CET on 12 March).

“The live streaming market is exploding and its internet traffic is expected to jump over 80 per cent by 2020. We do see a lot of potential in THETA. What makes it outmatch other existing live streaming platforms is that it is decentralised and powered by users. I am happy that we are supporting such an innovative project,” says Andy Cheung, Head of Operations of OKEx. “We look forward to onboarding more innovative projects which brings excitement to the market.”

In order to support the mainnet upgrade of Theta Network (THETA), the depositing and withdrawal of THETA have been suspended on OKEx.com for implementing the mainnet swap. OKEx will handle all technical matters of the mainnet upgrade.

The resumption time of THETA depositing and withdrawal will be announced in a further notice after the upgrade is complete.

While Theta will be moving from the Ethereum blockchain to a new and self-developed blockchain, Theta Fuel (TFUEL), the operational token of the Theta protocol, will also be introduced to the market. The first distribution of Theta Fuel will happen during the Theta mainnet launch. OKEx will support this distribution.
