Prior to this, he spent close to three years at BlueCrest Capital Management and, before that, held positions at Credit Suisse, Marshall Wace and UBS Investment Bank. Johar holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics.

Lopes also joins from Broad Bridge Capital where he worked alongside Johar as a quantitative analyst. Prior to this, Lopes held analyst positions at Cantor Fitzgerald Europe, JP Morgan and GE Capital Home Lending. Lopes holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with Finance and Economics from City, University of London.

Neil Mason, head of European long-short equity at Man GLG, says: “Tej is an experienced portfolio manager with an established track record, and we believe he will add strength and breadth to our capabilities in the European long-short space. We are delighted to welcome both him and Rafa on board, alongside a number of other recent high calibre hires to the investment team this year.”

Johar says: “I am excited to join Man GLG’s exceptionally strong team. The business’s deep, global expertise and collaborative culture make this a very compelling opportunity, and both Rafa and I look forward to working with Neil Mason and the rest of the team in our new roles.”
