Yotta Connect appoints CTO

Related Topics

Yotta Connect, a provider of technology solutions and services to the alternative asset management industry, has appointed Andrew Rosson as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Partnering with Nick Monos, CEO, and Ravi Atluri, CCO, Rosson will be responsible for building and managing the firm’s growing CTO Consulting Services practice. Rosson recently left the long/short equity firm, Stelliam Investment Management, where he had served as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Administrative Officer since 2013. Prior to Stelliam, Rosson was a CTO at several leading alternative asset management firms. The CTO Consulting business focuses on providing strategic advice to small and mid- size Asset Management firms, who need strategic expertise in managing the required complexity within their IT operations. The practice will focus on helping firms translate their business requirements into informed, practical, cost-effective and forward-thinking technology decisions. The goal is to provide unbiased advice to its clients on their technology platforms and vendor selections. Yotta does not compete directly in the Managed Service Provider (MSP) market and as a result, will help firms manage those relationships and service/vendor selection.

“Andrew brings a wealth of experience and industry knowledge to the organisation,” says Monos. “We’ve known each other for many years and we both appreciate the opportunity for growing the CTO Consulting business. Several of our clients approached us to help with managing their IT challenges and we recognised that we were uniquely positioned to build a vertical around those requests. Bringing in Andrew to lead that effort will really turn this practice into a significant and strategic business line for the firm.”

“The vendor landscape and technologies available to support the industry have changed dramatically over the last few years, and many organisations need guidance to navigate the options,” says Roson. “The movement to cloud technologies has increased the vendor choices for smaller alternative firms to support their technology needs. In addition, regulatory requirements and security risks have also increased, and added to the IT burden and complexity. Many small firms don’t have the resources or need to hire a full-time CTO, but still need some expertise and unbiased advice to help them make good choices. That’s the market we hope to serve, and we believe we can bring real value to our clients. Ravi and Nick have built a tremendous team and I’m excited to work with them.”
