Intelliflo targeting international expansion

Intelliflo is structuring its business team to deliver expansion internationally, with Australia the first country in the delivery pipeline.

Announced at the Intelliflo Change the Game Conference last month (18 June 2019), the firm is developing its multi-faceted business management system, Intelligent Office, for use by financial intermediaries operating in territories outside the UK.

Australia will be the first international territory to have access to Intelligent Office, with plans to roll out access to the system across multiple countries in the future.

To head up the International push, Intelliflo has hired Johann Koch as Business Development Director – International. Koch has specialised in adviser technology for over 16 years, including 12 years in business development roles at IRESS, seven of which were in Australia.

For the past two years, Koch has been involved in business development in London’s wealth & asset management community for SEI, giving him deep insights into how financial intermediaries and portfolio managers manage portfolios within the framework of broader financial advice frameworks.

In his new role, Koch will be tasked with establishing business development teams and developing partner communities in each new international territory.  Koch will also be working closely with those pioneer advice firms that are looking to change and improve their business management technology.

Nick Eatock, Intelliflo’s Chairman & Founder, says: “Since inception in 2004, Intelliflo has been focused on developing outstanding business technology specifically designed to enable financial advisers and their teams in the UK to become more efficient and profitable. Taking this technology to new markets is a natural next step.”

Koch comments: “As Intelliflo’s first Business Development Director for International markets I know I have been given a superb opportunity to take what is truly market-leading technology to territories where there is a massive appetite. The market demand for change in Australia and in other international regions is very encouraging, and with so much innovation and investment going into constantly developing the tools and services available within Intelligent Office, the proposition is highly compelling and will open new doors for advisers operating outside the UK who are ambitious to take their firms to the next level.”

Hamish Purdey, Intelliflo’s Chief Executive Officer, says: “The time is now right to expand our offering to other territories. This is a hugely exciting time for us as a business and the appointment of Koch to head up this development means we are ideally placed to hit the ground running in the first of our new international markets, Australia.”

Also announced at the Change the Game Conference is a tripling in the investment being made into Intelligent Office, up from over GBP3 million a year to GBP10 million a year. This will support new initiatives and innovations that the technology can deliver to the UK and internationally.

Intelliflo is experiencing significant growth across its UK user base, with over 400 new firms transitioning to their technology over the last 12 months, coupled with exceptional retention rates. The UK therefore remains a core focus for the business. Wenda Field will take a new role as Chief Sales Officer – UK which will see her continue to drive new business growth, providing advice firms with services that will boost their business performance.

Purdey says: “While international markets are an important strategic development for Intelliflo, the UK remains at the heart of our business and will continue to be a key focus in terms of service developments.”
