BTIG has appointed Joe Passaro as a Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets. Passaro brings over a decade of key experience to BTIG’s growing capital markets businesses. He will be based out of the firm’s New York office and report into Matt Clark, who leads BTIG Investment Banking.

“We are pleased to welcome Joe to BTIG’s leadership team,” says Scott Kovalik, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BTIG. “His extensive knowledge of the financial sponsor universe, deep relationships with institutional investors and ability to assist clients executing complex trades and transactions will be extremely valuable as we continue to expand our capital markets capabilities.

With ten-plus years of transactional and trading experience, Passaro will work to provide differentiated advice on equity, equity-linked and equity derived products. He will be instrumental in originating transactions, structuring offerings, and improving valuations for corporations while growing BTIG’s coverage of financial sponsor, private equity and venture capital clients. Prior to BTIG, Passaro spent twelve years at Deutsche Bank Securities in a variety of senior roles across the Equity Capital Markets and Global Equity Trading units, serving most recently as Co-Head of Equity Capital Markets Syndicate, Americas.

“Joe is a strong addition to our Investment Banking and Capital Markets unit,” says Steven Starker, Co-Founder of BTIG. “We believe that he will propel growth across this important business. As we continue to build out a market-leading platform, he will play a key role in helping to drive solid financial outcomes for clients.”
