Unigestion, an independent specialist global asset manager headquartered in Geneva, has opened an office in Copenhagen to better serve investors across the Nordics.

The opening of the Copenhagen office provides Unigestion with a dedicated distribution capability in the Nordics, as it embarks on its growth strategy. The office will allow Unigestion to increase its investor base in the region and work closer with investors looking for unique investment strategies, including bespoke ESG solutions for those with more specific requirements.

The Copenhagen based distribution function will serve institutional investors and intermediaries in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and the Netherlands.

Per Lawӕtz Hansen will lead the new Copenhagen office, having joined Unigestion’s business development team as Head of Nordics in December 2018. Prior to joining Unigestion, Per spent more than 20 years working across the Nordea group in a variety of roles including sales and client management of investment products.

Fiona Frick, Chief Executive Officer, says: “Opening the Copenhagen office underlines our commitment to our growth strategy and investors across the Nordics. To ensure we can be successful in the region it’s important that we have a local presence with a deep understanding of the market. Per brings strong relationships and extensive knowledge that will help us to strengthen existing relationships and build a larger network in the region.”

Lawӕtz Hansen says: “It’s a great time to join Unigestion and contribute to its ambitious growth plans. Unigestion places a big emphasis on ESG and risk management, which are among the issues investors in the Nordics care about most. Our approach to these themes will resonate with Nordic investors and help us to stand out in a competitive and important market.”
