Alternative credit specialist CIFC has recruited Anders Samuelsen from Muzinich as it continues to build its European team.

Samuelsen, who began his career as a credit portfolio manager at Saxo Privatbank in Denmark, will be based in London, and joins as VP, focusing on northern Europe.

CIFC has also announced the hire of Aidan Reynolds, from Murano Connect, where he oversaw the investor research desk.

Both will be working with European Managing Director Josh Hughes (pictured) in the investor services team.

Hughes says: “Anders and Aidan have strong credit & research backgrounds, which is important for us as we build appropriate strategies and products to meet the needs of institutions, pension funds and wealth management groups in Europe.

“Anders’ relationships in the Nordic region are also important. His appointment underlines our ambitions to build a truly European base here to complement the strong team in New York.”

CIFC, which has over USD26 billion of AUM, only launched its European outfit last year. In July it announced the appointment of four investment analysts. It has already launched a UCITS structured credit fund, which has USEUR100 million of AUM, and priced its debut European CLO – the €407.00 million CIFC European Funding CLO I, through Deutsche Bank.
