Meraki Global Advisors adds industry veterans

Meraki Global Advisors has made two senior hires: Eric Savitz, a 20-plus year veteran of the outsourced trading industry, has joined as Co-Head of Trading, and Gregory Sutton, a hedge fund professional for 14 years, has also joined Meraki as Chief Operating Officer.

Both will be based at the firm’s offices in Park City, Utah.

Savitz comes to Meraki with extensive experience in financial markets, most recently at Weeden Prime Services, where he was the Head of Outsourced Trading. He was responsible for trading global equities and managing all aspects of the prime brokerage offering. Prior to Weeden, Savitz was a partner at Greenwich Prime Trading Group where he spent 17 years of his career focusing on the firm’s highest- profile clients.

Before joining Meraki, Sutton was a partner at NY-based hedge fund Paulson & Co, where he spent his entire 14-year career. At Paulson, he held a variety of roles that included trading across asset classes, managing the firm’s trading technology, and performing portfolio analysis for the hedge fund’s four largest strategies.

“We are very excited for these two talented individuals to join our team. Attracting high-quality industry veterans is a testament to the one of a kind platform we are building,” says Meraki Founder Ben Arnold. “Eric & Greg’s experiences not only strengthen Meraki’s unrivalled pedigree but deepen the value that our clients receive.”

Meraki launched in April 2019 as an independent outsourced trading firm, providing conflict-free outsourced trading solutions. Unique to the current outsourced trading offerings, Meraki does not affect transactions for customers through a clearing broker arrangement. Their structure allows them to remain a truly independent and unbiased extension of a client’s investment team, thereby operating as a pure buy-side offering.
