Apex Group (Apex) has appointed Julie Ferguson as Co-Head of Throgmorton Compliance Solutions, working alongside previously announced Co-Head Mel Scotland.Ferguson brings an extensive record of accomplishment and experience across all non-investment areas. In addition to her background in the traditional asset management space, including extensive experience managing operational risk within a quantitative investment manager, Ferguson has an excellent understanding of digital assets and the emerging cryptocurrency industry. She has held senior operational and financial roles at firms including commodities trading house VCMT and FCA regulated investment advisory company Ashenden Capital Management. Ferguson began her career in prime brokerage at Morgan Stanley, before joining Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services.
This appointment further strengthens Apex Group’s single-source solution, with Compliance Solutions delivering new and complementary services to clients in addition to Throgmorton’s well-established accounting, tax, HR, payroll and company secretarial services.
Throgmorton Compliance Solutions, which launched in July 2020, delivers tailored services including license applications to the FCA, the NFA/CFTC and the SEC, compliance monitoring and management services, company health checks, regulatory audits, outsourced registered compliance and MLRO functions, plus options for board liaison and training.
This key hire follows a period of extensive growth in the corporate solutions space for Apex over the past year; including the expansion of subsidiary, Throgmorton, into the USA, UAE, Switzerland and the Channel Islands.
