Schultze Asset Management, an investment firm specialising in financially troubled and distressed companies, has hired Angela Lui as the Managing Director and Head of Business Development. In this role, Lui, a hedge fund veteran, will work to create new business opportunities and oversee strategic initiatives to expand the firm’s client base.

“We are delighted to have someone of Angela Lui’s caliber to head up our business development efforts,” says George Schultze, Founder of Schultze Asset Management. “Her experience in the hedge fund space, strategy and distribution will be invaluable as we assess opportunities among distressed companies and follow through on our growth plans for 2021.”

Before joining Schultze Asset Management, Lui was Director in the Investor Group at Autonomy Capital, an investment manager specialising in thematic, multi-asset class investing across developed and emerging markets. Prior to that, she was Director of Marketing and Investor Relations for a global macro hedge fund, Sibilla Capital, and worked on developing the firm’s marketing efforts, investment offerings, and asset growth strategy. Between 2007-2012, she was the Principal and Vice President at Malbec Partners, a hedge fund platform, where she helped co-found and launch the alternative investment manager and strategies, drove sales efforts, and oversaw investor and consultant relations.

Lui began her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory where she focused on Mergers & Acquisitions for global bank acquisitions and divestitures, earning the PwC Chairman’s Award during her tenure there. She earned her BS in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley.
