The gross return of the SS&C GlobeOp Hedge Fund Performance Index for December 2020 measured 3.70 per cent.Hedge fund flows as measured by the SS&C GlobeOp Capital Movement Index meanwhile, declined 1.67 per cent in January.
“SS&C GlobeOp’s Capital Movement Index for January 2021 of -1.67 per cent reflects net outflows, as is typical, based on normal seasonality. On a comparative basis, it is noteworthy that the -1.67 per cent represents lower outflows than the -2.11 per cent reported a year ago and is also the lowest net outflow for any month of January since 2012,” says Bill Stone, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, SS&C Technologies. “This comparative improvement is consistent with the favourable pattern in net flows that have emerged since the COVID-19 outbreak began affecting markets during the first quarter of 2020.”
