Multi-asset firm Fulcrum names portfolio managers Crewe and Chaudhry as partners

Global multi-asset manager Fulcrum Asset Management has appointed head of equities Fawaz Chaudhry and lead portfolio manager Stephen Crewe as partners at the firm.

Head of equities Chaudhry is lead portfolio manager of the Fulcrum Thematic Equity Market Neutral Fund and Fulcrum Climate Change Fund. Having joined Fulcrum in 2017, Chaudhry spearheads the firm’s equity business, and is also a member of its investment team. He previously spent more than 15 years developing his long-term, thematic investment approach with stints at Hadron Capital and Moore Capital.

Stephen Crewe is lead portfolio manager for the Fulcrum Income Fund and Fulcrum Equity Dispersion Fund. Having joined the firm in 2013, Crewe is also a member of its investment team, focusing on volatility strategies. Before joining Fulcrum, he spent more than two decades with F&C/BMO as director of alternatives.

The appointments bring Fulcrum’s total number of partners to 12.

Commenting on the promotions, Suhail Shaikh, chief investment officer, said Crewe and Chaudhry are both “masters of their craft” in their respective fields, who have generated “significant value” for Fulcrum’s investors.

Established in 2004, Fulcrum runs a range of multi-asset and standalone funds spanning discretionary, systematic and alternatives strategies, with some GBP3.5 billion (USD4.86 billion) assets under management. Its discretionary multi-asset funds are offered as both relative and absolute return funds and the systematic funds focus on trend as well as risk premia.
