New Hyde Park Alternative Funds has added the Galaxy Plus – Eagle Spectrum Fund (Eagle Spectrum), an investment strategy from Eagle Investment Solutions (Eagle), to its Galaxy Plus managed account platforms.
Eagle Spectrum invests in a diversified mix of liquid, exchange-traded futures across multiple sectors including currencies, fixed income, stock indices, agricultural, metals and energy.
The Eagle Spectrum strategy has been actively trading in proprietary accounts since 2012. The fund takes advantage of distinct price patterns primarily using spectral analysis and artificial intelligence techniques while adhering to strict risk and portfolio management rules.
“We provide a different risk-return profile compared to most CTA strategies,” says Farzine Hachemian, director of investment strategies at Eagle. “Controlling risk and money management concepts are embedded into all of our strategies, playing a key role in screening, sizing and initiation of each individual position and also at the portfolio level. Eagle Spectrum utilises spectral analysis techniques to decompose price patterns into their characteristic constituent frequencies. The process is adaptive as the fund employs machine learning techniques to identify the period which corresponds the best to the current market environment.
