Man Group has named chief operating officer (COO), head of ESG, and general counsel Robyn Grew as its new president. Grew succeeds Shanta Puchtler, who is retiring, according to a report by Pension and Investments.

The report cites an internal memo signed by Man Group CEO Luke Ellis for the information. As part of her appointment, New York-based Grew will assume responsibility for both Man Solutions, which creates and runs customised cross-engine investment programmes across the group’s five investment units, as well as Man FRM, Man Group’s hedge fund investment business.

Central trading and bank relationships, including those with prime brokers, will also fall within Grew’s remit, while she will also retain her current responsibilities overseeing: environmental, social and governance; operations; and other operational responsibilities, including financial crime.

As a result of Grew’s appointment as president, Tania Cruickshank, global head of legal and European general counsel. will take on the role of general counsel. The role of COO will cease to exist with part of those responsibilities being retained by Grew and the remainder assumed by other senior members of the firm.

The report says that the changes are slated to happen over the summer period to facilitate an orderly transition.
