C Capital targeting $500m to invest in crypto and private equity

C Capital is planning to raise $500 million for investments in  blockchain assets as well as the credit and private equity spaces on the assumption that the prices of both digital assets and private companies are bottoming out, according to a report by Bloomberg.

C Capital is planning to raise $500 million for investments in  blockchain assets as well as the credit and private equity spaces on the assumption that the prices of both digital assets and private companies are bottoming out, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The report cites unnamed sources as confirming that the firm, which was founded by Hong Kong-based real estate tycoon Adrian Cheng, and ex-Bank of America Merrill Lynch banker Ben Cheng, is currently marketing a marketing a $200 million blockchain fund and has plans to raise an additional $300 million for private equity and private credit investments over the next 12-18 months.

C Capital is reported to already have around $1 billion invested in private companies, digital assets and credits, with it’d hedge fund strategy mainly focuses on crypto trading..

Originally set up to make venture capital investments, C Capital has since expanded into later stage companies and has  invested in over 60 businesses to date.
