Stefano Cocirio, an associate portfolio manager at Elliott Advisors is to quit the US activist hedge fund to take up the role of chief financial officer (CFO) at Italian Serie A football club AC Milan, according to a report by Il Sole 24 Ore.

The club, which was acquired by private equity firm RedBird Capital in June of this year in a deal worth $1.3 billion, has already tapped one Elliot exec for a senior role, naming Giorgio Furlani, a portfolio manager at Elliott, as its next chief executive officer (CEO) earlier this month.

Furlani is set to take over from current CEO Ivan Gazidis in December 2022, and if the reports are correct, will soon be joined by former Elliott colleague Cocirio as CFO.
