Blackstone’s hedge fund arm sees another senior exit

Vlado Spasov, a managing director at Blackstone Inc, has become the latest executive to depart the alternative asset manager’s hedge fund division, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The report cites an email response from the London-based executive’s Blackstone account as confirming that he has left the firm and, according to a filing with Companies House, has also resigned from his position on the board of Blackstone-backed working capital provider Peridot Holdings.

Spasov, who was part of the New York-based firm’s hedge fund solutions group, where he focused on special situations investment including through the Blackstone Strategic Opportunity Fund, previously held roles at Ares Management Corp, Fortress Investment Group, and Citigroup.

His departure from Blackstone follows the exits of a number hedge fund executives including Steve Logan, who left for a role at Moore Capital Management, Kristerfor Mastronardi, who has moved to King Street Capital Management, Michael Pierog, who has joined Millennium Partners, and Rakesh Kumar, who has taken up a new role at Citadel’s Surveyor Capital.
