Millennium, the hedge fund business founded by Izzy Englander, has poached another bank managing director with the recruitment of Cagdas Aksu, who has spent the past 18 years at Barclays, most recently serving as MD and head of the bank’s European rates Strategy, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.

Aksu, who will be based in London, is reportedly joining an investment ‘pod’ at Millennium rather than the central strategy team that hired another bank MD – former JPMorgan exec Jack Yang – earlier this month.

Millennium has also reportedly added to its teams in New York and Paris with the appointment of Ivan Chee, a quantitative researcher who spent six years with quant fund Squarepoint, as a senior portfolio in the Big Apple, and Morgan Stanley’s Baptiste Portenard, as a quantitative analyst in the French capital.
