Ostia’s appointment follows BlueCrest’s hiring of macro traders from Nomuro and NatWest in January.

Ostik spent three years at Mizuho having started his career as a developer in infrastructure services and then fixed income derivatives at Merrill Lynch before moving into trading at Deutsche Bank.

BlueCrest, which is run as a family office, has a reputation for paying very well with portfolio managers typically earning 30% of their PnL.
