Ellis pockets biggest Man Group pay packet since 2008

Man Group chief executive officer Luke Ellis earned $11.3 million in 2022 from his base salary, bonus payment and share grants, the largest pay packet of any Man Group head in the last 14 years, according to a report by Reuters, citing information from the company’s annual report.

As a public company traded in London’s FTSE 250 index, Man Group is unusual among hedge funds and part of Ellis’s performance package is based on the company’s share price over the past three years, which is up about 65% since the start of 2020.

Over the last three years, Man Group has taken in $18.7 billion of new client money and made $11.5 billion in investment gains.

The title of highest earning Man Group CEO is still held by Peter Clarke who took home $14 million in 2008.
