Abbey Capital has launched its first UCITS fund, Abbey Capital TrendPlus, on Waystone’s MontLake UCITS platform, marking the Irish alternative investment manager’s entry into the European retail-compliant fund space.
Waystone is acting as Management Company (ManCo) to provide regulatory, governance, and compliance support.
TrendPlus leverages Abbey Capital’s multi-manager managed futures expertise, combining Commodity Trading Advisors (CTAs) across global financial and commodity markets. The strategy employs systematic trading across more than 200 futures and forwards markets—including currencies, fixed income, commodities, and equity indices—aiming to provide investors with uncorrelated returns alongside equities, bonds, and other alternatives. The fund places a strong emphasis on risk management, liquidity, and portfolio diversification.
Waystone will oversee governance and risk oversight, allowing Abbey Capital to focus on portfolio construction and investment management.
In a press statement, Mick Swift, CEO, Abbey Capital said: “Abbey Capital’s TrendPlus strategy marks an important milestone in our mission to make institutional quality investment strategies accessible to a broader range of global investors. This UCITS product reflects our conviction in managed futures, the importance of long term investing and the potential to deliver uncorrelated returns within a strong risk framework.”
