Balyasny has lost the services of two senior engineers, with Connecticut-based Mark Franklin, who focuses on execution technology, joining Steve Cohen’s Point72, and London-based macro quant researcher Luke Pebody moving to Jane Street.
Franklin left after just a year at the multi-strategy hedge fund firm, having spent the previous 16 years at UBS, according to eFinancial Careers.
Meanwhile, Pebody, who has previously held roles at other hedge funds including DE Shaw and Rokos Capital Management, stayed at Balyasny for just under two years.
