BAM launches Blockchain Alpha Fund, appoints Tawasin as Global Head of Sales

Block Asset Management (BAM), a long-standing player in digital asset fund solutions, has launched the BAM Blockchain Alpha Fund (BAF), a multi-manager hedge fund targeting uncorrelated alpha in the digital asset space.

The Luxembourg-based firm has also appointed industry veteran Jameel Tawasin as Global Head of Sales, as it ramps up its institutional distribution efforts.

According to a press released, the newly launched fund is designed to deliver “consistent, double-digit absolute returns with low single-digit volatility by allocating capital across a diversified suite of market-neutral and defensive strategies”. These include spot and basis arbitrage, DeFi yield generation, market making, and secured lending.

Built on a multi-manager framework, the fund combines institutional-grade risk controls with monthly liquidity, catering to investors seeking downside protection and decorrelated returns from broader digital asset market trends.

“The BAM Blockchain Alpha Fund is designed to meet growing institutional demand for sophisticated, stable return profiles in digital assets,” said Manuel E De Luque Muntaner, CEO of Block Asset Management. “Our focus is not on market direction, but on structured alpha generation through rigorous strategy selection and risk management.”

To support its global growth plans, BAM’s parent company Blockchain Investment Group (BIG) has appointed Jameel Tawasin as Global Head of Sales. Tawasin brings more than 25 years of experience across fund management, hedge funds, digital assets, and investment banking.

He previously served as Global Head of Sales at Aaro Capital, and held senior positions at Revere Capital Advisors, Man Group, JPMorgan, and Prudential Plc.

The launch of the Blockchain Alpha Fund complements BAM’s existing Blockchain Strategies Fund (BSF), the world’s first fund of funds dedicated to blockchain investments, launched in 2017. While BSF provides diversified, beta-efficient exposure to the digital asset space, BAF adds an alpha-centric option for investors seeking market-neutral, yield-driven strategies.
