Bloomberg and commodity prices specialist General Index (GX) have expanded their existing strategic collaboration to provide Bloomberg Terminal users with enhanced access to voluntary carbon market (VCM) data.
As part of the initiative, more than 200 voluntary carbon price indexes — developed using GX’s methodology — are now available to Terminal users, offering greater transparency in this rapidly evolving sector.
The newly integrated dataset includes 69 spot prices and 133 spread and rolling average price indexes, delivering granular insights into some of the most liquid carbon credit markets across various geographies. These benchmarks aggregate trade data and categorise prices based on risk ratings from BeZero Carbon, as well as by scheme, technology, vintage, and location. This structured approach helps market participants assess pricing dynamics with greater clarity.

GX-powered data is accessible through Bloomberg’s {SPOT<GO>} function, reflecting both emerging trading patterns and established commodity pricing points. Additionally, the new price assessments can be accessed via Bloomberg Data License and Bloomberg’s real-time market data feed, B-PIPE, for enterprise-level use.
