Bridgewater Associates has hired Kobi Platt as a commodities specialist in its New York office, adding a veteran oil markets investor from Brevan Howard.
Platt joins the world’s largest hedge fund after serving as head of commodity strategy at Brevan Howard in New York. Prior to joining Brevan in 2024, he held investment roles at Balyasny Asset Management, Deep Basin Capital, Taylor Woods Capital and Tudor Investment Corporation, building more than two decades of experience in energy and commodities markets.
The move comes amid continued demand for commodities specialists as volatility in energy markets and geopolitical developments keep oil trading firmly in focus for macro investors. It also follows a period of expansion at Brevan Howard, which has been actively adding macro portfolio managers while continuing to perform strongly across several strategies.
