Catalyst Capital Advisors, a provider of alternative investment solutions, and Aspect Capital, a London-based systematic hedge fund manager, have partnered to launch the Catalyst/Aspect Enhanced Multi-Asset Fund (CASIX).
According to a press statement: “The fund utilises a multi-strategy approach that seeks to capitalise on investing in non-correlated asset classes and aims to provide a highly liquid alternative to investors considering a traditional 60/40 approach.”
CASIX combines a long-only traditional 60/40 portfolio with a multi asset-based ‘trend following’ overlay. The 60/40 component provides strategic exposure to liquid US equity and fixed-income securities through investments in S&P 500 futures and US bond ETFs. The managed futures-based trend following component, meanwhile, is historically non-correlated with stocks and bonds, thereby offering additional potential value to clients over traditional approaches, according to the firms.
CASIX will be sub-advised by Aspect Capital, with the fund aiming to provide long-term capital appreciation.
