Citadel has hired a former Citi psychotherapist as the Multi-strategy hedge fund major continues to build out an in-house healthcare operation for its employees, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.
The report cites unnamed people familiar with the matter as revealing that Eva Churchill, who spent almost nine years as an internal psychotherapist at Citigroup in New York, has joined Citadel to provide therapy on a part-time basis.
Her arrival adds to a growing medical team at the hedge fund, which has been expanding the healthcare services available to staff as its operations increasingly resemble those of large financial institutions.
Citadel has maintained onsite medical facilities for some time and has recently recruited nurses and other healthcare professionals to work alongside chief medical officer Dr David Stark.
Stark joined Citadel from Morgan Stanley last September. A medical doctor with a PhD in biomedical informatics, he is based at the firm’s New York office and oversees the broader healthcare offering.
Citadel has also established a clinic in Miami. The facilities initially focused primarily on physical healthcare but have expanded to include mental health support and coaching.
Citadel reportedly declined to comment on the appointments.
