ExodusPoint Capital Management continues to deepen its presence in the Middle East with the recent relocation of Berhe Tesfayohannes to its Dubai office, marking another strategic shift in its global portfolio manager footprint, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.
Tesfayohannes, who joins as a Portfolio Manager, previously spent over three years at PIMCO, focusing on FX options. His prior experience includes macro FX trading at DBS and FX options structuring at HSBC, as well as a stint in commodity derivatives with London-based prop trading firm Mandara Capital.
The move is part of ExodusPoint’s ongoing expansion in Dubai, where the hedge fund set up operations in 2022. The firm’s Dubai entity currently has five authorised individuals listed with the Dubai Financial Services Authority, although the full size of the team remains unclear.
Tesfayohannes joins a growing bench led by Adrian Ahmadi, who relocated from Point72 last year to head a long–short equity pod. Ahmadi has also been building out his team, most recently hiring Emmanuele di Gennaro, a former Morgan Stanley investment banking associate, who joined the Dubai office in March.
