Nimmagadda joins from Point72, where he spent nearly two years as Head of Generative AI Technology, establishing the firm’s AI function and driving adoption across investment and support teams. While not a large language model engineer by training, he has positioned himself as a strategist and evangelist for hedge funds looking to integrate emerging technologies.
His career spans senior roles at Millennium, where he worked in equities trading technology before becoming Head of Technology R&D, with a focus on low-latency trading and early applications of machine learning. In 2023, he pivoted fully into generative AI – a move that aligned neatly with Wall Street’s growing enthusiasm for the technology.
At ExodusPoint, Nimmagadda is expected to spearhead initiatives that use AI to improve research, trading efficiency and internal processes.
