GAM has partnered with Arcus Investment to distribute the Arcus Zensen hedge fund, a long-short strategy focused on Japanese equities managed for over two decades by Arcus co-founder Mark Pearson, according to a report by Portfolio Advisor.
The firm, which was established in 1998, operates from London, Tokyo, and Kuala Lumpur, and oversees $1.3bn in assets under management via three funds: Arcus Aensen the long-short strategy targeting opportunities across various market capitalisations; Arcus Japan, a flagship, long-only fund focused on large- and mid-cap equities in the IA Japan sector; and Arcus Japan Value, another long-only portfolio, specialising in smaller-cap companies.
The report cites Arcus CEO Edward Cartwright as saying that: “Since 2001, the Arcus Zensen fund has delivered compelling returns through proprietary quantitative analysis, rigorous fundamental research, and Mark Pearson’s portfolio management expertise. With GAM’s support, we aim to reach a broader base of institutional investors globally.”
