Former Goldman Sachs Group Managing Director Jamie Goodman has secured backing from Millennium Management for his upcoming Asia hedge fund firm, with Izzy Englander’s $61m multi-strategy firm committing $500m to the new fund, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The report cites unnamed sources familiar with the matter as confirming that Goodman plans to focus on APAC equity capital market deals including IPOs, follow-on share sales and block trades. Goodman’s new firm will manage money exclusively for Millennium for a period of time, according to one of Bloomberg’s sources.
Goodman is launching his new firm after leaving Maven Investment Partners in Hong Kong, where he served as Head of Equity Capital Markets and Portfolio Manager for the APAC. Prior to Maven, he spent 17 years at Goldman Sachs heading public-side equity capital markets and blocks distribution for the APAC, before his departure in 2021.
