Hedge funds saw modest gains in April, with the SS&C GlobeOp Hedge Fund Performance Index showing a 0.46% return for the month. The SS&C GlobeOp Capital Movement Index, a gauge of hedge fund flows, saw a notable increase of 0.86% in May
Bill Stone, Chairman and CEO of SS&C Technologies, said: “The 0.86% rise in our Capital Movement Index for May 2025 marks the largest increase in the past two years, as inflows outpaced outflows. Following a period of relatively quiet years, 2025 has seen heightened market volatility, surpassing 20-year averages, with recent spikes at post-Covid highs.
“Hedge fund investors continue to value the risk-adjusted returns and downside protection these funds offer, which has helped sustain asset retention.”
